The T2 Singles League
We are pleased to present our T2 Singles League, designed to create a competitive and interactive environment for table tennis enthusiasts. The league is open to all interested individuals and provides an opportunity for friendly competition. Only T2ers (T2 Club members) who are in good standing with the club can participate in the league.
The league consists of multiple rounds, each spanning over one quarter of the year. At the end of each round, promotion and relegation take place. The top performers are promoted (🏅) to higher divisions, while those at the bottom are relegated (➝) to lower divisions, ensuring a fair and competitive environment.
Participants in the league are responsible for communicating and scheduling their own matches with other members of their respective league divisions. Each player must play against every other person in their division at least once during each round. The Member Area provides a resource to match membership IDs with member names for ease of communication. It also provide you with the means of communicating with members via their provided email address.
During matches, players have the option to umpire their own matches or elect an umpire of their choosing. If they elect an umpire, they are required to pay the umpire's relevant subsidy before the match commences (Paid directly to the umpire).
Preferably, both players may submit scorecards on the day the match was played, but at least 1 of the 2 players are required to submit a scorecard on the day the match was played. Only accurately completed (and corresponding) scorecards will be accepted to maintain the integrity of the league.
The league timeline is as follows:

OTHER T2S RULES:
In addition to the general league rules, we have some specific guidelines for fair play:
🏓In some divisions, players not wearing Club Branded Shirts will start with a one-game disadvantage.
🏓In some divisions, players using blades not approved by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) will start with a one-game disadvantage.
🏓In some divisions, players using racket coverings/rubbers not approved by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) will start with a one-game disadvantage.
🏓In some divisions, players who do not own and present an approved match ball for the match, they will start with a one-game disadvantage. Match balls can be verified using the link provided:
https://equipment.ittf.com/#/equipment/balls
🏓Players who have made a genuine effort to play their opponents within the designated timeframe of each round (and can provide reasonable proof of such effort) will receive a point against those opponents.
🏓Players who fail to play any matches during a round will be automatically relegated (➘) to the lowest division(s) without exception. They will also forfeit any T2S Rand Discount point accumulated in previous rounds.
🏓Players who fail to submit an accurate match scorecard may lose their Match Attendance point.
🏓All matches should be played at a location, date, and time mutually agreed upon by both players.
🏓In case of ties, playoffs (🥊) will be organized to determine the final outcome.
🏓No player is permitted to play more than 3 matches per day/session. They will forfeit all attendance points for that day.
🏓Players who are entered into the league will lose attendance points if they are present at a club session but did not play at least 1 of their league matches in that session (where their opponents were present as well). The only exemption being extended to JTTA League players if they are in a home fixture.
🏓All Queries and/or Disputes are first to be reported to Division's Lead Umpire, and should the Lead Umpire not provide a ruling, the matter should be escalated to League Referee.
🏓Awards, Prizes and Divisional Promotions are only awarded if the player is in good standing with the Club.
🏓Any contested points or penalties must be formally communicated to the League Manager (Referee) as soon as possible, or latest before the round end-date. The League Manager's decisions are final and binding.
🏓Cash Prizes will be pro-rated to the total number of matches that ought to have been played in the relevant division
For example: If the division is made up of 7 people - it means that each player is supposed to play 6 matches.
if 6 of 6 matches played = 100% of prize money
if 5 of 6 matches played = 83.33% of prize money
if 1 of 6 matches played = 16.66% of prize money
Note that the lowest division would generally have the most amount of players as it includes newcomers.
🏓Cash Prizes Only applicable where matches were formally umpired with signed internal scoresheet handed in for Technical Committee Review (Before Round end-date). Nominated umpires are expected to collect their subsidy from the player prior to match commencement.
